Safety and Sea Survival Certificate 2010

This course is designed to develop your knowledge and skills for offshore racing and cruising. Courses run from April to November 2010.

Emerging Nations Program Regatta Perth 2011

Eleven athletes from eight different countries will be trained by ENP Head Coaches Belinda Stowell and Arthur Brett, who also hold the roles of WAIS Head Sailing Coach & Principal Sailing Coach Fremantle Sailing Clu respectively. The ENP athletes sail in teh RS:X and Laser classes. More information:  ENP Regatta 

 

ISAF Sailing World Championship Perth 2011

A Mark Laying Course and a Race Officer Course is being run - FREE OF CHARGE - by Perth 2011 Training. These will enhance the skills of the WA sailors in the lead up to the Perth International Regatta and the Perth 2011 ISAF World Sailing Championships. Participants do not need to be a member of the Club to be involved. Places are limited, so please book early to avoid missing out. Perth 2011 Training information sheet.

 

MOFSC Accredited Yachting Australia Training Programs

The Club conducts a range of sailing and power boat handling courses through our accredited coaches and instructors.  The MOFSC offers a structured program from the beginner through to the elite level.  Participants are nurtured through the various levels by highly-skilled instructors and qualified coaches.  With regular assessments, an individual's progression is based on their personal achievements and ability.

 

LEARN TO SAIL

Get Into Small Boat Sailing (GISBS)

(maximum 12 persons per course)
Get Into Small Boat Sailing (GISBS) is designed to progressively teach you how to sail starting with the essential skills in the first Basic Skills course then leading into the advanced Racing Skills course where techniques are gradually introduced in each of the five courses.

RADIO VHF

(maximum 8 persons per course)

The Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency Course will provide all candidates with a practical knowledge of the Global Maritime Distress Safety System and equipment which is appropriate to vessels operating in Australian waters.

RECREATIONAL SKIPPERS TICKET (RST)

(Maximum 12 persons per course)

Our aim is to ensure that all Boat owners and Recreational Skippers have the same level of understanding to make our waterways a safer environment for all.

NATIONAL POWER BOAT SCHEME

 

SAFETY BOAT HANDLING

(maximum 14 persons)

This course is aimed at people with a desire to be in charge of a safety boat, particularly those who wish to assist their clubs with the control and support of racing programs and other training courses. The components of the course have been designed to develop the participant’s knowledge and skills, and to apply this competently in actual boating activities.

 

SENIOR FIRST AID

(2 day course - maximum 14 persons - 14yo+)

The flagship St John Ambulance first aid course covers a broad range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations, providing care for the ill or injured until medical aid arrives. It is suitable to both people in workplaces and members of the public who want training in first aid.

 

KEEL BOAT SAILING COURSE

(maximum 4 persons)

This course is designed to provide quality training and certification in keelboats for day sailing, coastal cruising, bareboat chartering, navigation and offshore passage making.  

 

RACE OFFICERS COURSE

A National Race Officer Course will be held at MOFSC in July, date to be confirmed, as part of Perth 2011 training.
